Brief background:
Trista is highly gifted in the healing arts and has always wished to help people with her talents. She's not the best people person, but cares deeply for the welfare of those close to her and would willingly give up her own comfort for another.
Born in Silver Brook, Trista was forced to abandon her hometown at the age of 20 when human forces invaded neighboring settlements. She had already lost her father to illness brought on by famine, and knew little of her mother, who disappeared one evening when she was still small. With little else keeping her in Silver Brook, she disguised herself as a human and fled south to the farming town, Shire.
In Shire, Trista worked as an apprentice for a doctor named Henry Gadsbeck. For a long time, Henry had no idea that Trista was an elf. He only began to catch on when Trista demanded to treat several critically injured people following a mine shaft collapse-- and managed to save nearly all of them, even ones Henry felt were past the point of saving.
Shortly after the incident, Henry confronted Trista on the matter and she openly admitted her circumstances. Rather than toss her out or report her to the Envoys, Henry treated her the same as always. He refused to let her leave his clinic on those terms-- particularly after saving so many individuals and becoming something of a small-town hero-- and over the next several years she became a valued doctor of Shire.
As the Elder Purge progressed, however, Shire became increasingly involved in the war effort (valued for its crops and horses.) More Envoys came with the rush and, with their arrival, they brought higher means of surveillance.
One of Trista's patients suspected her of using elven magic to heal his wounds and reported her to the masked police. Both she and Henry were detained shortly after.
Trista pleaded with the envoys, insisting that Henry had no idea of her race. She begged them to let him go and, after much considering, the Envoys agreed to do so (primarily due to his expertise as the only qualified doctor of Shire.)
Trista was later taken to the Silch Facility where she has resided as a prisoner for about two years.
