Rolan is the "cool-guy" type. He rides a motorcycle and a hoverboard because he's so cool. Yeah and he's also pretty good (or mediocre, whatever) with a gun.
He wears shades because Protoman and Rock (Metropolis) wear them, and I pretty much ripped their designs and made him a furry.
