Tonta is an ounten miner from the Cauldron City clan who has surrounded himself with a great deal of stress and unhappiness. Despite being an excavation expert, he's grown to dislike his job, attempting to appease his eternally-disappointed grandfather and the expectations of his fellow ounten. His true passion lies in the controversial profession of textiles, which he pursues after-hours in a specialized workshop he built. Due to the strain he puts on himself to excel in both, he's earned a reputation as a hard worker with a very selfish attitude and a fragile temper.
Constantly grumpy and defensive as hell, Tonta has very few friends who are willing to put up with his sarcasm and brutal honesty on a daily basis. Those few who have the patience to wait him out when he's at his worst earn his genuine loyalty and gratitude, and can see him relaxed, even friendly, when he can spare a moment to be. Buried beneath all his self-imposed misery, Tonta is a good person with decent morals. He just makes life much harder for himself.
Tonta is one of the main characters from my story-in-progress, Bridges of Light. Outside of that, I also utilize him as a representation for my muse of inspiration and work ethic, hence why he's often drawn with representations of myself, such as my lynx fursona Amber.
The writing underneath his name is what his name looks like handwritten in the Ounten language!
