Background/History – Native to the midlands of England. Chalky has always sought to gain knowledge and expand his mental capabilities. Even at a young age, he preferred chess, puzzles, and riddles over sport or other play. He made attempts at learning to read and speak English and even learn mathematics, but he never got far on his own. For the time being, he settled on being very wordly in Pokemon language.

Other than learning, he also loved classical music and theater, and especially preferred to listen to anything with a cello in it. He would often sneak into theaters to watch plays or loiter around restaurants that played classical or orchestral music.

Somewhere along the way he finally did pick up an interest in battling for the purpose of self-defense, and found that he enjoyed battling strategically, and did rather well at it thanks to his Prankster ability. It was because of this that he was captured by a Team Rocket executive about 30 years ago.

He did his trainer's bidding without complaint in exchange for being taught how to read and speak English, and even some mathematics. Once he was taught the basics of those, he took it upon himself to expand on them, to the point that he can read, write, and speak English more fluently than the average human adult with English as their native language.

Before long, though, he developed a propensity for crime even without being bribed. After the first couple years of criminal activity, his sense of right and wrong was distorted, and he started to find an odd thrill in his job. His conscience shrunk more and more as time went on, and eventually, he no longer thought of his job as wrong. He viewed it as a game of wits to see whose mind was superior: The law, or the lawbreaker. The majority of his criminal career consists of high-class thievery of valuable items and objects, but he has also assisted in stealing Pokemon from their owners, eggs of rare Pokemon from their nests, and scarcely, even “silencing” certain witnesses and other threats to Team Rocket. He became very attached to his trainer and the other Pokemon his trainer owned, and comfortable with his way of life. Everything was fine for him, for a time.

20 years after his capture, however, a heist went wrong. His trainer was, for once unable to elude the authorities, and was cornered. When he tried to resist capture with the use of a gun, he was shot and killed. Chalky was lucky enough to escape, but the event changed him. Once he'd experienced the loss of someone close to him, it made him realize that he'd done the same thing to others. He reflected on all the wrong he'd done, and became deeply remorseful.

With nowhere to turn to, and no reason to look back, he vowed to himself that he would change, try to redeem himself, and start anew elsewhere, severing all his ties with Team Rocket. He traveled far away, not knowing where he was going. He only knew he had to go somewhere Team Rocket's name had never been heard of. For several years he traveled without stopping, even crossing oceans by stowing away on ships.

Eventually he reached a place where humans were only considered a fairy tale, and instead Pokemon held domain. Thoroughly assured no one there had ever heard of Team Rocket, he settled in. He soon found the crime rate was rather high, and instantly saw the chance he'd been looking for. He started his own exploration team under a guild run by a Salamence called Wyvern. For his partner, Chalky was assigned a male Lampent named Paschel, who had been in several exploration teams already, all of which split up due to dissension. While the two had a bit of a rocky start, they eventually got along well, and even became a couple.

Having a wealth of experience on the other side of the law, as well as nearly infinite skill and wit, Chalky never had any trouble doing his job well. Before long, His team—Team PhantoSinge—became the most well-known and revered to work under Wyvern's guild (which is saying something). Other teams have even tried to rival his as of late, though there is only one somewhat successful one, run by a female Zoroark/Mightyena hybrid named Synaku.

Personality – Despite his lawless background, chalky is very chivalrous and gentlemanly, which compliments his intelligence and heavy British accent perfectly. However, his time with Team rocket has left him prone ti deceitfulness and greed at times, though he is trying to change that. Boasting may be added to his list of flaws, too; he often takes any chance he can get to appear smarter than others, quoting and referencing human literature, riddles, Chinese proverbs, and the like, knowing full and well no one has any clue what he's talking about. He also uses “big words,” as well as keeping a certain fluent subtlety to his movement and gestures out of habit. His movement is the kind that keeps you a little on-edge because of how easily it can go undetected, but at the same time, it could just mean that Chalky is very graceful. To add further confusion, He has a smirk that could be takes as either sinister or charming with just the slightest change in the look of his eyes.

Habits – Still reads and plays strategy/puzzle games a lot in his spare time. His current favorite is Bejeweled. Suffers from mild insomnia since his trainer's death. Always wears his Sneak Scarf.

Body – Tall for his species. Has very soft and fluffy fur. His eyes are made of a somewhat rare green chalcedony, and he has red spinel on his chest. On his left shoulder blade is emerald, his right, quarts. He has turquoise lower on his back, and even lower, malachite.

Trivia – When I first made this OC, I couldn't decide between a Team Rocket backstory or a Mystery Dungeon one, so I combined the two. Before death, Chalky was a human criminal who received the death penalty and was decapitated.
