before he was sold into slavery by his very chieftain, ruhan originally belonged to a primitive tribe of people that lived and flourished along the kush nation's nile banks, the shilluk.

as a slave ruhan spent his years toiling away as a palace servant where he developed his gifts in secret until at seventeen made his daring escape after enchanting his masters into a deep unwaking sleep.
