The Legend of Zelda... Got Me Into Comics

XRedMoon

So this weeks' comic was an autobiography about a past event and how it still affects us today. I was going to go with a darker story, but when my classmates were all talking about darker stories, I wanted to choose something lighthearted.
SO ZELDA.
I grew up watching my mom play Ocarina of Time on our gamecube (we have the collectors edition) for years. I grew up playing zelda games and just in general loving the series. One time my mom and I went to Barnes and Noble to get something, and I noticed an Ocarina of Time comic. I didn't know what comics were, what manga was etc. I just knew that I needed to have it. And so my mom bought it for me.
I read that book so many times. It's so old. The spine is broken on one page (since part of the text fell under the bleed section and I couldn't read what it said so I pressed the book and it kind of snapped!) It's what got me into comics. My classmates pretty much know now why I draw right to left. Because my very first experience with comics WAS in that way, that's how I learned to read them- and now write them.

Anyways, some of my really old longterm followers might recognize a little easter egg in this page. That 5 minute drawing looks so much better than the original page I swear. Five years REALLY makes a difference.

This was just a small portion of how Zelda affected my life- I went into a little bit more detail in my first inktober prompt if anyone is interested.
Have a good day!!

Next week's assignment is a character crossover/mashup comic.
