The Ueptael evolved on the hot and high-gravity planet Araqualtoh. Their eight legs distribute their weight evenly across the ground while their upper four limbs are used to assist in climbing and navigating through the dark cave networks in which they evolved. The many glassy hairs which line their upper limbs are highly sensitive to changes in air pressure. These hairs are also tipped with a highly irritating toxin to deter predators.

Their front facing limb terminates in a pair of proboscises and a bioluminescent organ which Lejendairidans often view as a “face” or “mask”. It is this organ which they use to communicate in the form of bright pulses of light, often in hundreds of separate bursts per second. Although they possess no central eyes, the Ueptael are in many ways optically oriented. Light sensitive tissues cover large areas of their bodies, giving them a collective image of their surroundings. Their proboscises are used to siphon nectar and juices from the flora-analogous entities on which they feed.
