For lack of a better title... The decks of an aerial battleship can be slippery even without the sea's spray, and while Avian feet may naturally provide sufficient grip on smooth surfaces, the same cannot always be said of Hequevaren hooves!
As such, hooved members of a ship's crew often wear soft rubber inserts fitted around the frog, to provide better grip on hard, flat surfaces. They are convenient, but they're not as sturdy as full hoof-boots, and are prone to falling off if the adhesive dries out!
