"It can be hard for me to remember sometimes but I was once human too." The meganium said, looking down at the young riolu before her.

"Wait really!?" He was rather shocked to hear about this.

The meganium nodded. "I don't remember a whole lot but I do remember that fateful day. The day I left the human world and woke up a chikorita. I was playing a game when I heard a voice. It said it came from the pokemon world and asked for my help. I still don't know why I accepted. Just something inside me needed to help with whatever was needed."

The riolu nodded and listened. There was a faint nostalgic look in his eyes, a part of him deeply familiar with these turn of events.

"I then remember it asking me questions, the entity trying to sum up what kind of person I was. Or rather what sort of pokemon I was. I felt it in my mind... maybe even my soul. I remember closing my eyes and feeling my body changing. I also remember feeling younger as I became more pokemon and less human. I think I was a man too back then but it doesn't seem right to me." She blushed a little at that but finished her story. "Anyways next thing I knew I woke up by a pond and met my first partner."

"That... sounds almost like what happened to me." The young pokemon said, mind wandering to his past. "How long have you been here anyways?"

"Honestly I lost track. 20 years? Maybe a few more. I'm certainly not a young sprout anymore, that is for sure."

"20 years? And you still never found your way back home?" The young pokemon was looking a little worried now.

The meganium smiled softly. "Oh, I had my chance to return home many years ago once I did what I was needed for. But after all I have been through here and all the other pokemon I met... I couldn't bring myself to leave."

There was a shout from outside. "Mehl! You home? Lucky got us a mission to rescue a lost herd of Wooloo and we could use an extra vine."

"I'll be with you guys in a moment, Herba!" Mehl shouted back out the window then returned to her little friend. "I gotta go help my team out. But one more thing. When the time comes, and it will come, know that even if you leave you will always have friends here."

The riolu nodded and left Mehl's home. He turned around to watch the meganium and her team; a charizard, a venasaur, and a typhlosion; left on their own adventure while pondering on Mehl's words.
