After having escaped from prison and suited himself with what little gear he could find, Torquil Raedon the Emolga went on the run, hoping to evade recapture. Nikolai Striker the Dewott, Torquil's long-time sworn enemy, learns of his escape and goes on the pursuit. After a brief tussle inside a cave, their fight causing the cave entrance to collapse. With food and water in short supply, air in the cave running out and Nikolai's enchanted sword, Rein Meka, stuck in a rock outside of the cave, the two must find a way to work together to escape before they both perish. Nikolai is the first to take the initiative, being the more rational and less resentful of the two, but Torquil's burning hatred of his long-time adversary makes the idea of a cease-fire difficult to swallow, even in such a dire situation.

Nikolai: Torquil, I know we've done horrible things to each other in the past, and I don't expect you to forgive me for all the trouble I caused you while I was under the Ama Katana curse...but if we're going to get out of here alive we need to work together. So just this once...can we put our differences aside and find a way out of this cave?
