Armored Vault Suit: Addon's

TujomaMusaki

Did I ever mention how much I love the Fallout series? So much so that I put the time and effort into making my own Armored Vault Suit for cosplay and novelty purposes. The suit itself has been the way it is, with the frayed yellow stitching and overall worn look, for years since I made my regular trips to Otakon down in Baltimore, MD. More recently, however, I started making leather fixtures piece by piece to be affixed to the suit itself. Purchased the material off of Amazon as scrap leather sheeting, then cut them down by hand and managed to fabricate a wasteland armor look. Couldn't achieve the turtle-shell shape the upper plate was supposed to take on, but something "close enough" instead. Four eyelits stamped into the fabric itself allow for the four bolts to be used in attaching the plate to the suit. The forearm guard has two black leather belts looped around the back, allowing for an adjustable snug fit to the forearm itself, with the pleather cuff present to prevent chafing.

This was all in anticipation of Katsucon down in the National Harbor near Washington DC, down the lower parts of Maryland. I had managed to finish this all in the weeks leading up to the event, which took place on February 14 - 16. Overall, it was a fun time, but admittedly short as most conventions go the length of 3 days. Here's to completing more pieces of the suit as a lengthy work in progress.
