The first thing to do when you find yourself in a strange place is to look for other people who can help, right? This island seems like it should be inhabited... but every building is empty, and all you have to piece together what happened here is journals and notes.

One of the things that makes this game so great, in my opinion, is that you don't really get to meet a character in person until the very end. You have to decide who to trust based off the evidence they've left behind, rather than by talking directly to them.
