Charity's gigantic blue paws stumbled backwards on the soft black ground, the surface instantly warming up to ideal temperatures as her weight made her sink into the pillowy plush. What little resistance it offered was arranged and positioned perfectly to help her avoid losing her balance, and in fact allowed her to recover on contact. A soothing, calming, reassuring wave of emotions crashed down upon her like a tsunami, overwhelming the momentary shock and concern she'd felt and allowing her to focus again.

Charity focused on her divine sight, expanding her vision far beyond the limits of all but the greatest of beings, sensing across distances too vast to measure. She saw rolling hills and valleys of wonderful black. Endless canyons of soothing warmth. Orange-red spires that radiated love and compassion at such extreme levels it was almost a physical phenomenon. And far beyond, far beyond all of that, she saw...
