The Gala

Galas are a medium-size type of Fheg-Jek.

Bones, feathers, some sort of stuffing (pine needles are commonly used), and at least one captured soul.

Traits often include large teeth, dark muzzles and wing tips, and lighter (sometimes glowing) chests, to draw attention away from their mouths. Galas with lighter faces and cleaner teeth usually have more trouble hunting souls.

Gala cannot truly fly. Instead, they run along the ground and occasionally glide for small distances. They can manage to get into low branches, if they put in some effort. They are often used to dig for treasures or to snatch up and carry medium-sized loads, although some have broken away to live successfully in the wilds. They cannot breed.
