A Christmas gift from the self-appointed members of the Alector fanclub! :)

"A Winter's Repose" is written to the amazingly talented Alector, and features her Plant Spirit wolf (or "Tree Spirit" in the song, since that fit better with the poetry).

The lyrics are done by the closet poet, Swandog
Vocals are sung by the amazing Amadhia

This was the first time I had ever written a melody with a song, and the first time Swandog had any melody written for her poems. It's far from the first time Amadhia has sung a song, so she is the experienced party here. :)

"O Spirit of Trees, tell me where do you go,
Where do you hide, when the winter winds blow?
Your once verdant leaves, they all wither and die;
Now bare bones of branches claw at the sky.
Your breath plumes like smoke through frost-laden teeth,
From the mantle of snow you slumber beneath...

Shake ice from your fur, and open your eyes;
Then you lift up your voice, and to the Trees sing,
And quicken to life, the green joy of Spring."
