Although I'm not such a fan of using lions as riding animal (why could that be? :D ) I like your picture. The unsual perspective makes it more energetic, at least in my opinion. It becomes a wilder scene as it would be if the horizon would be "normal". This fits to a pretty beach scenery with a powerful lion.
I have to admit, though, that I first thought it would be a unicorn-lion when I saw the thumbnail because the cloud behind the head looks a little bit misunderstanding. ^^;
