Alright, this was a big'un, so thank you from left to right to Boralis, KishaTashwood, Klingendrache, Firefoxinc and Ravegeam . All found on FA and characters belong to their respective owners of course.
Generally i don't tend to do these larger paintings with more than 2 or 3 main characters involved since it ends up including too many moving parts and thus making it more of a gamble of getting it right. So when Klingendrache came up and asked for a picture with 5 people i was a bit taken aback. Thankfully to ease my mind Klingendrache proposed that we best include a tank as well, so something that i haven't drawn before! Sooo...yeah... but fuck it, i like anything that's made of metal and makes a whole bunch of noise, so i could just hide away from ever drawing any tanks or planes or whatever but that won't help with actually getting better with drawing them. So agreeing to the project i did.
And as it turned out tanks actually work surprisingly well for me, i guess my somewhat rougher style blends rather well with big and rough things like a tank.

That time in history is important to many people of the world to this day.
It's important to honor those who sacrificed their lives so tyranny and cruelty could not consume and conquer the world.-

Yes, the Panzer IV was a Wehrmacht tank, and i'm sorry to hear that. I actually don't know much at all about my family from that time. Kowledge about my family tree basically stops with my grandparents for me and my mum doesn't know much else either. Which is quite a bummer since of course i think anyone would love to know more about their own history so to speak. What their great-great-great grandparents did etc. And my grandparents aren't quite enough to really remember much from WW2, they basically just have hazy memories of baths in metal tubs and so on.-
My grandfather's on both sides of my biological parents families fought in WW2 in the US military.
My dad's dad fought in the Marines, my mom's dad fought in the Army.
The US Air Force did not exist back then, and all airplanes used in WW2 by the US Military were owned by the US Army at the time.
My grandparent's fought in many different places for a period of time.
My dad's dad fought mainly in Asia. He learned Chinese, and he helped repel Japanese invasion of the mainland.
My mom's dad fought mainly in Europe. He learned multiple European languages, and was heavily invested in trying to learn of and preserve the knowledge of areas that the Nazis were 'cleansing'.
If anything, some people I know had family that were divided during WW2. That war was a nightmare for their family and past, as some fought for Nazi Germany's Aryan Empire, and others fought against it.
They don't like talking about the past much, or in detail, because of how tragic it was.
Not all Germans fighting for Nazi Germany were bad folk, some did it for 'patriotism' for their country. These Germans actually had to live in fear that their mercy and compassion to Jews and lesser races could result in extreme punishment to them. It is important to honor and respect the Germans who refused to embrace the Nazi agenda even if they fought in the Nazi armies.-

!!! Thank you. I only took a year of it in college, and 3 years of it in high school (though our teacher was actually Peurto Rican and taught us many mistakes). I'm always self conscious about it, but so badly wish I could use it as fluently as English.

Mhm i see, well the best way to learn is to use it! And no need to be self conscious about it, learning languages is hard, especially if they've got a different structure to them such as english - german, so everyone makes mistakes :) And especially when talking to germans you probably don't have to worry about it. The vast majority of under 40s have english as a second language, so they know fully well how tough it can be!

True! I'm jealous you guys learn other languages so early on. Over here the earliest is usually by age 14, which makes it way harder in my opinion. I think my biggest mistakes in German are where verbs and nouns and adverbs etc all go. Its very different than English!

I didn't learn super early either. I think nowadays it's common to start sometime in the first 4 years of school already, but i had my first year of english in 5th grade. It's still a bit earlier but not by much. I think age 11 or so ? But yeah apparently it really makes learning languages easier the sooner you start. Something with the way the brain develops or something like that, so i can see even those few years making a big difference in how easy or hard it is. And english from that point onward is one of the main subjects alongside math and so on. So that certainly helps too if there are lessons almost every day of the week.
I can totally understand your confusion there too with the sentence structure. It's something i never really was able to learn in the "oh you do this and then this" type of sense. It always was a case of developing a feeling for it. So i wouldn't even know if there's really a way to make it easier. I just had luck that most of the internet is english and so i could learn over time.
