Behold the art of old!

Nomax

Holy moly....

You know, i've got this one folder on my PC that remained untouched for years. My mother always said to me to always keep your drawings no matter what . As it turns out that is shit advice because who is supposed to have space or all the pieces of paper that accumulate over the years? Let alone carry all that stuff when moving....
This one folder however has inside of it the art that has been untouched by me for years because.... well....LOOK AT IT!!!
Yesterday however i broke the seal and lots of laughter was to be had.

This file is dated July 07, so a good 8 and a half years old if my calculations are correct ,and apparently in July 07 i made the magical discovery of smudge tool in combination with the chalk brush? So of course i had to produce this masterpiece to show off my newfound mastery. Of course no painting of old is allowed to be missing the magical ingredients of terribly overdesigned weapons and similarly overdesigned and utterly impractival pieces of armor Like what the hell is that thing on his arm even supposed to do?!

Thankfully though i knew about anatomy! ... Maybe?.... I mean look at those pecs and the erector abdominis, or that lovely biceps...and his floating hand?..... Yeah... no.... i didn't know jack about anything.

Now also imagine that a picture of this time period is hanging in my grandma parent's house, i already was ashamed of the picture they have back then but they really liked the colours..... ah bless their hearts. :D

Goddamn it look at that sword, that has to be the most anime thing that you guys will ever see from me. So cherish it, it's all downhill from here. I mean it's got flames, spikes and a 69 symbol to probably signify the balance of something? I mean it has to be a pretty good sword with all that

Oh man, this would be so perfect for a redraw, showing off the difference years of practice makes. But then again, that would be quite a lot of work that could be put to commissions instead.

Not even only that, even beyond commissions there are dozens and dozens other things to draw and learn . Someone let me know when they discover a way to never get tired and need sleep anymore!

      • Link

Yeah, though I fear how that would actually be used in our current society. "Since you don't need to sleep, you can work 16 hour shift every day."

That's why you gotta find the guy who discovers it, steal his stuff before he lets anyone know and shank him. Then you've got the advantage all for your own! :P

I know that feel, haha. I have all (or at least most) of my art stuff since I was 3 years old or so and I wouldn't throw it away for anything, because even though it looks terrible, it's part of my history. I love looking back and seeing how my skill improved and how my stories evolved, how my bland imaginary world of the old became a much richer and more realistic realm!

Not to mention how it makes me feel so much better about my current art whenever I see it, haha.
