Sure enough, his wings rapidly shrunk receded into his back, leaving nothing at all. His legs were also gone without a trace by this time, having receded into his waist. That left his torso being propped up by his tail.
A tail which just as soon shrunk into his back and vanished, leaving him barely balanced.
