I actually thoguht this was a picture when I saw the thumbnail qq.

I don't quite understand the title? Is it because of the Eagle being a symbol of Rome or something else?

If you read the description you'll see that the character is a former member of the Roman Legion. I just couldn't really draw a Roman-ish background because buildings are hard :P (but the bridge is based off a bridge in Rome).

Oh I am sorry I didn't know there was a description. (First time on Weasyl) Freaking awesome then! How much was this?

Haha no worries :) Realistic portraits like this are $100

O-o Holy shit! That's a lot! But for good work it's worth every penny. ^^

For the amount of hours I put into these, compared to what many other artists would charge, it's actually not that much.

I didn't know that? How much would this be with someone else?

                • Link

Well I know of some artists with similar styles who would charge more like $200-$300 for something like this, and others who do toony styles who'd charge $100 for something far more simpler than this. I don't need to charge overly crazy prices because I can work fairly quickly, but I still need to make a decent hourly wage. That's in the furry fandom mind you - well-known artists outside of the fandom (eg. fantasy or concept artists or game artists) tend to charge upwards of $500 for a piece of art, from what I've seen.
