The Simpsons has some meta, Family Guy in recent years has meta, Rick and Morty has a lot of meta, a lot of recent light novel anime adaptations have meta...

...And to be quite honest, I'm getting a little tired of meta humor.

Don't get me wrong- I like meta humor as much as the next guy. At least, I liked meta humor as much as the next guy. But I don't know, it's been everywhere, and I guess the overexposure is making me tired of meta. I mean, meta is good and all, but you know. I would like to see some word plays or some slapstick or some dramatic irony or something else really...
