Christmas Night, 2014, Our friend Taylor Miller was in a car accident. A man failed to stop for a police checkpoint, and it turned into a high-speed chase. A girl (we don't know her) was driving Taylor because he had been drinking. She didn't hear the sirens and she didn't see the lights. The man and one cop car passed the intersection as they ran a red light, but the second cop car T-boned the SUV that Taylor was in. He was unconscious as they rushed him to the hospital, and he had a brain injury. His family kept him on life support for 17 hours, but his body just gave up. It was unreal, I had just seen him days before, he had hugged me and then playfully shoved me away because we didn't sit at his table at the restaurant. It took me a very long time to cry about this, I never really know what to do when something like this happens. Of all the people that Dustyn works with, he was my favorite, and he was there when we got engaged (first one to come and hug us both after the lanterns. He might have been just as excited as we were). He was a very dear friend, and I was actually happy to find out that he was an organ donor, so he helped save other people's lives and somewhere, he still lives.
