Penny and Dusty, two adopted characters who have evolved quite a bit over the years. Dusty was the first of a handful of characters I adopted, and Penny was a leftover from his batch I went back for at a later date.

And now, the copy-and-pasted description from the original submission page:

I finally got around to drawing these two together! I planned to use her as a possible girlfriend for Dusty, perhaps she works at some roadside diner that he visits every so often, have a little bit of cute awkwardness between them. She kinda has a crush on him, she's the typical "small town girl" that craves adventure and excitement, and Dusty is the shy drifter type that rolls into town every now and then.
While it's pretty obvious that Penny is crushing on him pretty hard, Dusty is a bit too shy to know how to react since things are moving way too fast. He'll catch on eventually, hopefully...
