To summarize, the big four-armed alien (the species is called Vanguard) and his human companion just crash landed into a rural Mexican church. The human is hurt, and the Vanguard is desperately trying to impart to the locals that he needs help for his companion. Unfortunately, a big monstery thing with horns and four arms cradling an injured human while using a wooden carving of Jesus as a crutch for his own injured leg looks rather like Satan rising from the flames to the natives.
