Okay so, kind of a weird story. I signed up for ArtSnacks which is a subscription service in which each month they send you a small selection of high quality art supplies that you have probably never used before, so you can learn and experiment with new things. And I was super excited about this but I don't get my first box until August. :(

So I went to my local art shop and bought a few random things I've never used before, as follows:

One Windsor&Newton watercolor marker - violet
One Aquash waterbrush
One PanPastels pan-based pastel - turquoise
Sponges for the pastels
One jar of Higgins water-soluble black ink (this is cheating, I have used it before, but never in an inkwash, so whatever)

in order to simulate the experience.

And then I came home and made this, which is super rough but kinda cool I think from the perspective of 'I've never used any of this stuff before'.

Yeah.
