Ashley at first had felt self conscious about wearing his old clothes in this new body, especially since he was constantly reminded that his body was male. He found it somewhat distracting when around other females or Mikaela, but he felt far more comfortable having at least a part of his old life in the clothes he wore.

His parents had not understood it, blaming the crossdressing on his former body's death. They were certain he would 'get over it' and go back to the boy they'd raised, only that would never happen.

He'd gotten used to the hooves and the horns, remembering to duck in low doorways and to walk quietly when he didn't want to wake Mikaela, but he saw her boyfriend every time he looked in the mirror.

Ashley had managed to get most of their friends to accept his apparent transgender status, though only Mikaela knew the truth.
