Working on a new Original Mix!
Let me know what y'all think.
CRITIQUE WANTED!
Technical/mixing, songwriting, etc etc.
This is about 3 hours worth of work so far - I plan on putting a LOT more in, so let me know what needs to change! I want to get this thing POLISHED.
I've listened to this enough times that I hate you for not finishing it. I'm trying to think of any other electro artist that has any similar style, and I can't think of any without really searching the depths of my memory banks to good tracks that got me into electro in the first place. So unique. It's like your wip has the elements of early Feed Me (Grand Theft Ecstasy) and Mord Fustang (Lick the Rainbow). It's like I'm FUCKING ROLLING AGAIN. So can you please just produce more music and become the greatest DJ ever? Like...now. GAH. I'm so pissed it ended again. It leaves me wanting more.
Ahhhh nice to see some electro stuff!! I like the build up and the general ambience of the synth, but I feel there's something lost in the "drop". Like, it should be punching me in the face, but it's just not quite there. I think it needs a bit more crunchiness in its highs and more punchyness in its lows. This is the least helpful critique ever but I don't know how to say it in technical terms lol. But aside from that you have a really good sense of where the pauses and breaks in the rhythm should be and that keeps the track unpredictable while still being danceable. Overall it's really GOOD.
Love the stereo micro-delay on the intro synth the crowd noise is also a good touch, it's a bit obvious when it loops though. Love the general stops, and the vibrato on the main room synth is very good. Mixing and leveling wise, a part of me wants a crunchy bassline synth that rides along with the background synths, almost like a background bassline, and then stop. BOOM, smack you in the face with a drop. Like what you did with the mastering. We do indeed have someone who understands what sounds good and what doesn't behind the controllers people. Kihu knows what's up. Your mixing perfection reminds me of DJ Oddy @0ddj0b on twitter, and myself. Oddy to a MUCH higher extent. Well done, needs some work, but I have confidence. Also take Rawkz0rz advice, really crunch those highs, but let the bass be dynamic. Don't crunch the punch. There's a difference between, this sounds good and OH MY FUCKING GOD WHAT IS THIS SONG CALLED HOLY FUCK I NEED THIS RIGHT NOW. Hope I could be of service. The Blondfox is GO.
Assuming that where you started the song is actually the real beginning of the song, I think you should add more build to the first part. It kind of comes in abruptly. Maybe preview the melody in the intro? Other than that there's not much critique I can think of. You're doing a nice job of layering everything. Especially in that transition starting around 0:31, you pace that built really well. Keep working on this one for sure, sounds awesome.
Getting some very minor gartner vibes from this AND THATS A GOOD thing well, as a casual listener, I dunno. his shit is <33333 but yes, I'm a sucker for the faint crowd or commotion noise in the lead up to 55. It FIRES ME UP. Though with such a dramatic build up, I almost feel there could be more done to knock me on my ass or get me bouncing into the air screaming at 1:00

I bounced in my chair to it, and then it ends so abruptly leaving me wanting more XD
Not that high on the music knowing, but I do really enjoy what you have so far!
