Bristol and Copic is my jam! This looks great =D

Mine too! I go through so much Bristol paper in a year! lol That's why I always use scraps, if they're big enough--no wasting the Bristol paper!

Thanks so much! I found a scrapbooking store down by our post office that has a full tower of open-stock Copic markers. Open-stock is so hard to find were I live...Michael's stopped carrying open-stock here and Hobby Lobby has a small amount of open-stock (but finding an employee to get what you want from the case is even harder........)--so even though they don't offer discounts at this store. It's nice to be able to replace that Cardinal (Keira-Jo's base fur-color) without buying one of the $30-50 color sets that has it in it. :)

If you are willing to get them shipped, Oozak.com has the cheapest I have seen for copics =)

I was going to ask what color the base fur is. Its such a pretty shade!

My scanner, of course, destroys all real color. But for coloring her body fur I use a base shade of Copic Cardinal or Prismacolor Tuscan Red. :)

I always loved getting them at Michael's, because I could use the great coupons. But now that's only good for the color packs. chuckle Do you ever refill the Copic markers? Because this scrapbooking shop sells the refill ink REALLLLLLLLY cheap and I was wondering if I should try doing that or not! :)

Absolutely I refill them. Its much cheaper to buy a refill for a color you use a lot rather than just replacing the marker. The only catch is how to refill them. You are SUPPOSED to get the refilling pen/tool thing and slip it past the nib to refill the container inside. But I just take out the square nib and dump ink directly into the marker XD
I have seen no problems with doing so either. Its a little annoying to remove an ink filled nib with your hands or napkin. Plus it occasionally spills over the marker after you refill it like that. You get used to it fast, though. And rarely mess it up.
But yeah, a marker refill can fill a marker up to 6 times (I believe). So its very cost efficient to get them for the high-use markers!

Then I will think about doing that for my big use colors. Like the refills are only $9, whereas the marker itself is $7.50 at this place. :)

I actually never use the square tip on my Copics, because I never do huge surfaces with them. I save my off-brand markers for big surface coloring...so it wouldn't hurt to try a refill sometime! Thanks for the tips!

No problem. I love using copics, but some of their stuff is a little bit useless lol.

They are definitely the best for getting flesh-tones...Prismacolor is really limited on those shades. So that's how I got started with Copic markers!

I like copic because of their ability to blend. I just can't seem to be happy with how Prismacolor blends :/
I have no issue with prismacolor, though. I am just picky about markers X3

I started with Prismas because I got a 150 marker set for $35 when our local Blick Art Supply closed. Everything had to go, and it gave me a chance to start using markers.

I still prefer using Prismas sometimes...like for Knuckles (gijinka or original form), I prefer Prismacolor Crimson Red. I haven't found a Copic red I'm completely happy with for coloring him. :)

For that price, I would have started using Prismacolors XD

I know! It was definitely a steal!!!!!!!

I still miss Blick, but I got great art supplies for cheap when they closed!
