flat-colored reni bookmark by keirajo

flat-colored reni bookmark

keirajo

A doodle of Reni on a bookmark (meaning scraps of Bristol that look that size...........I try to use as much of my scrap Bristol as I can............), flat colored with markers. I didn't use my Copics for this, I used one of the craft store's housebrand (Artist's Loft) marker sets for this. :)

Funny story...........when I do read, I burn through bookmarks. Why? I tend to leave them at the end of the last book I read--then I forget what the last book I read was................and then I need another bookmark! XD

Delteva [CLOSED] species belongs to NikiNazu on FA and Weasyl. :)

      Thanks! :D

Whenever you use different markers, make sure what they look like! I try to make sure to color Reni with the real "Crimson" reds, but some markers are oddly more orangy. XD With Reni having orange too, I have to make sure the reds I use aren't the orangy ones, since my scanner treats colors badly! lol

Yeah, definitely. I've gotten markers that I tried after I got them and they look so different from what their packaging shows!

But sometimes it feels like the universe wanted me to use a different color than what I planned because it can turn out looking unique and cool.

Other times it's just annoying xD

I tend to rely on these housebrand markers more for backgrounds and save my Copics/Prismacolors for the main figures of drawings. But sometimes I'll use them for flat colored art like this! :)

It can be fun experimenting! :D

That's a good idea. I hardly ever do backgrounds because I don't want to waste my markers (also I'm bad at them and am usually too lazy lol)

Michael's housebrand of markers (Artist's Loft) is actually really good at covering large surfaces with less streaking than Copics or Prismacolors. They don't blend as well, but it works good for backgrounds where I'm not as reliant as the blending. :)
