Octransfur Day 3: The Cat Napper [Anthro Cat TF] by Joat

Nobody was surprised to see Alicia napping on the bench during lunch. She always managed to have time after eating for a quick nap before her next class and she always took that opportunity when she could.

Nor was anyone surprised to see her napping on the bench out front. She had a fondness for napping out in the sunlight, contrary to many who would have found it uncomfortably bright, at least without something to cover their eyes.

Nor, for that matter, was anyone surprised that she was partially off the bench. Such tended to happen when she napped, and she seemed just as comfortable as she slept nonetheless.

No, what surprised people was the rapid growth of fur on her skin. In a matter of seconds, she had gone from having no fur at all - unless one counts the long, black hair atop her head - to being covered in short, soft black fur.

The others in the area stood in awe as the changes continued. Alicia's ears moved upward, becoming pointed and triangular. Her face was next to change, her mouth and nose pushing out to form a short muzzle with a cute little pink nose at the front. On either side of her new muzzle formed long whiskers.

Already, many had guessed what she was becoming, their guesses further confirmed by her hands and feet. They too were changing shape, developing paw pads as they changed from hands and feet into paws, though her forepaws still had some resemblance to human hands, retaining their opposable thumbs and having longer digits than a normal paw would.

Lastly, the tail formed. It sprouted gently out from behind, not only unhindered by the jeans but forming a tail-hole in the jeans, as if the jeans were meant for a cat person from the very start. After the tail finished forming, the transformation was complete, the onlookers still staring in awe.

Alicia slowly opened her eyes, purring from having finished such a lovely nap, then stretched. The rest of those present were not quite certain whether she hadn't noticed her strange transformation or simply didn't care, but either way, one thing was for certain.

It was a highly appropriate form for her.

Octransfur Day 3: The Cat Napper [Anthro Cat TF]

The theme for today was Sleepy, and immediately the first idea that came to mind was to base the story around a pun. Show of hands/paws/wings/pseudopods/whatever: who's surprised?

Fun fact: During some of my time in high school, I imagined myself as an anthro black cat.

When comparing to what CrizBN did, we definitely had very different ideas. For one thing, he drew someone being currently sleepy, while I wrote about someone who is sleepy in general. And at first I thought that what he did might have been a bit on the uncreative side, simply a TF while the one doing so just happened to be sleepy, but then I noticed the way the shirt burst in the front as he was arcing back as part of the yawning motion. It may sound like a minor detail, but sometimes minor details make all the difference and that one did for me, making the "TF" and "sleepy" aspects feel much more properly connected. That was the tipping point for me that turned it from "TF while sleepy" to "sleepy TF".
