Chilesaurus by JKN

Chilesaurus

JKN

Chilesaurus was a rather unusual dinosaur from the late Jurassic. It belongs to the group of meat-eating dinosaurs, the theropods, but instead of being a carnivore it feeded on plants. This is evidenced by the its small skull, odd spoon-shaped teeth, a long torso along a backwards-pointing pubic bone to make room a large gut to digest plant matter and legs to suport this body configuration and not made for running. Its scientificic name come from the country it was found, Chile and the species name "C. Diegosuarezi" is named after Diego Suarez, a child who allegedly found the fossil.
