I love carpenter bees myself. I've held and petted many in my years and even helped them in many ways. cupping my hands over them and carrying them out of buildings they were trapped in. holding flowers still for them In windy weather. even letting them climb up my hand to more easily get Into their hard to enter doors to their hives, then tacking a string there for them to climb when I wasn't there. I've only ever been stung once and that was by by a young queen exiting her hive.
