The "Demon" in "Demon Parasites" is propaganda. Countries and various religions, fearing this threat that can take away loyal citizens and faithful worshipers, sells the symbiotic race as an evil army of parasites

It doesn't help that they look demonic, or that hives occasionally rampage about, consuming everything the land can give to satisfy their queen.
