For most people, depression is a burden that they must carry with them everywhere they go. In Zetsubou’s case, it is a bit more literal. Her tail is the cause of her depression. As it saps her happiness and positive emotions away, she is overwhelmed by negativity. That is about the only difference between her brand of depression and others who suffer from it. She has to struggle to keep her head above water and do her best to function every day.
