Not at all offended! i have a fan myself and i just drew it how i hold it for keeping myself cool. But it's good to know there is a technically correct way to do so! i will keep it in mind for next time i draw a fan :)

Love the piece however they way the fans hinges are positioned in her palms looks awkward. I practice Tai-chi fan dance and from a technical perspective one should hold a fan with the hinge positioned at the base of the fingers. I hope this doesn't offend you. I do quite like the piece and it is still beautiful and well put together!
