All this talk of centaur-ifying characters (trend on Tumblr) has me itching to flesh out the centaur-esque design I had in mind for Uber-Lamia.
The trick is the transition from Half-Dead to Uber Half-Dead is meant to be an evolution, not a revolution. So I can’t just stick a second torso and well-developed limbs on her without it violating that principle. You need to look at both versions and see how one could lead to another.
Enter this weird…leg comes from the knee strange split-foot split-leg thing. She’d have a hell of a bounding hop, that’s for sure. And her chest would have way more lung capacity. The micro-pumps through her body (developed as a band-aid to her missing heart) got bumped up into full-fledged hearts. So now she can run for a while without tiring. Probably keep up with a car even. And by virtue of those free upper-limbs, she doesn’t need to pounce to catch you. She can just stretch out and grab.
Then you’re doomed!
This stride is so strange though. I’m going to have to animate it just to visualize it. Because there’s SO many directions you could take an anatomical set up like that. It’s pretty beyond anything naturally occuring.
This might also require small tweaks to her Half-Dead legs to suggestion a transition to this. Like small grabby bits on her thighs.
Gonna flesh this out later.
