OH NO SHE'S CUTE

Ettie

Drew this a few weeks ago back around the same time as the tentacle pic when I was feeling uniquely unmotivated yet also eager to try and experiment. I asked my friend "Hey what should I draw?" and he said "slime character" and, true to form, I said "No, that requires learning a new skill and will take effort!" but then, true to form, I still wound up doing it anyway. D'oh.

Goo/slime characters are something I'm very fascinated with and had been meaning to try my hand at for a while. This wasn't meant to be anything more than an experiment, but it actually came out pretty cute in the end so I decided to upload it after all! I learned a lot from this, too, which I hope I can use to make the next attempt, whenever that may be, even better.

Not only that, but let's just say all the practice with "goopy, viscous fluids" could perhaps have some applications as well...

Representing certain details (like transparency, shines, and so on) is very difficult with just pencil (or traditional as a whole), but for a first time, and for such a rough drawing, I think I managed well enough. The only part I really don't like was how I drew her "core" (the little circle in her belly). It's a trait of goo characters that's certainly only optional, and perhaps even uncommon, but it can be pretty cool when done right. This one may have been better without it, but I figured I may as well try anyway since the whole idea in the first place was to experiment!

Anyway, feel free to shlorp on over to twitter and follow me if you want.

My discord server is also a very gooey place.
