Precipice of Light by Eskiworks

Precipice of Light

Eskiworks

In the forest, the thick canopy blocks out any beams of light, making the forest floor a very dark and dimly lit place to be. What a sight it must be to emerge onto this edge and into the light! A commission for Spotticus, which was an immense pleasure to paint. It took a lot longer than other full illustrations because of how precise I wanted the foliage to be. It got a little complex, treating each plant part as an individual object to be considered and lit and rendered.

43 hours in Photoshop with an Intuos 3 tablet
