I said I'm done drawing crystals... but not translucent things. :D I'm stubborn.
I think I'm figuring this out though... It seems better to not draw the "back layer" of a translucent object at all, but only draw the details, reflections, and then very lightly add in the color with the semi-transparent brush. Gonna play around with that method for the next few days.
