Imagine you're watching funny-animal Star Trek. Except every other episode is from the point of view of the Borg.

Who are actually a bunch of perfectly charming pod people linked to sentient starships. And the Federation is a bunch of equally charming folks dedicated to digging up and documenting as much of the lost knowledge of the Ancients as they can.

Or at least that's how it looks on their respective sides of the story.
