Menial had parents who had big opinions of themselves and while they thought they were being clever coming up with a name for their newborn daughter out of thin air (It's pronounced "Many-All") they failed to realize that the spelling that they had chose matched that of an unflattering word that already existed.

Menial grew up the eldest of seven children and would often take on the role of mother while both parents worked. This responsibility essentially robbed her of the social experiences one hopes to have during the high-school years.

She has been married and divorced many times, but despite the troubles shes had to cope with she became a prolific novelist (Mostly harlequins truth be told) and professionally very successful.
