Although it was originally designed to a be a lewd pic, I felt it didn't really add anything so I produced a revision that's squeaky clean! I maybe missed a spot of reflection in the water somewhere. Anyways! I actually rather like how the fur turned out on this one for the most part. I still need more practice, though. And more RAM!

Maya actually doesn't have particle-based fur, though. This uses a tech from it called Paint Effects. It has its advantages, but to get it to render in a reasonable engine, I have to generate actual mesh geometry from it and it tends to be dramatically slower and more RAM heavy than other fur approaches.
On the bright side, it seems easier to get a good shape from it than other techniques. It isn't really built for reusability, though, so there's some manual work.
