Nice to Seat You ch 1.5

With a hard flick the towel straightened out into a gentle flutter atop the soft sands. A cheerful hum vibrated in Tulip’s throat while she laid across the set cloth. Good gracious, warm sand on her lower back and tail flooded her mind with relaxing tingles. This might not have been such a bad idea. A notion enforced when the winds caressed over the scales on her belly and breasts. Warm sun and fresh air were a perfect combination to unwind worn dragon muscles.

For about three minutes anyway. Tulip’s blissful smile wilted as her eyes opened, staring at the blue sky through her half-moon glasses. The peace she had longed for all week suddenly felt so alien, almost intrusive. There was no gushing cluster of fans like at the coffee shop. Everyone was keeping to themselves enjoying a beach day, not caring about a pensive dragon digging her tail through the sands. She was finally left completely to her own devices, and this was somehow a disappointment.

“I’ve been out in the wilds too long,” Tulip grumbled with a gentle head shake. Being on archeological expeditions tended to limit one's company for a seriously long time. Maybe that explained why smiling for the selfies was getting easier each time.

Already bored with laying on her butt, Tulip propped on her elbows for a glance around. She should have come here with a friend, hell would freeze over before she got the nerve to approach people the way they flocked to her. The elephant stomping in her direction was especially intimidating, despite their struggles to move through the sands. Poor girl's weight sunk each step halfway up her shins.

Then Tulip realized she was staring and diverted her gaze elsewhere. She needed something to do before she went crazy. Of all the time to wish for a cellphone which she left in her car. Spotting a taco place made the dragon’s insides clench. She had been too distracted escaping the coffee shop to get a snack earlier. Lunch could buy some time to think of a better activity.

Before she could stand, a shroud of darkness washed over Tulip’s relaxing spot. Glancing up saw the sky was still a clear blue. What little fluffs of cloud sailed by were too thin for such shade.

“Um...hi? Tulip?”

“GAH!?”

It was not the sudden voice calling out from above that startled Tulip. She had just not expected to turn muzzle first into a wall of gray and blue mass. For whatever reason the female elephant had stopped practically on top of Tulip’s towel, trying to give a friendly smile over the rise of their stomach and breasts.

“S-sorry! You are Tulip, right? I, um, I’m Lynda and I, mmph, read about you in the paper this morning.”

Their timid nature was immediately apparent with the frequent breaking of eye contact and hardened fingertips clicking together. Long black hair draped over her face as if the blond streaks could hide them from the world. Although it was a cute touch, the tuft of her little tail had matching streaks to it.

Unfortunately, being only feet away in a vulnerable position made Tulip only notice those aspects of Lynda in hindsight. Her wide eyes were concerned on the nervously shifting hips wider and thicker than her entire dragon body combined. The elephants rocking only got worse as Tulip watched, making her eventually realize it was because of her own silence, horrified gawking, or both.

“Er, ahem! Y-yes, I’m Tulip. It’s very nice to meet you, Lynda.” It took a second for Tulip to find her usual formal tone, though eyes still tracked the girth of Lynda’s looming curves. Thankfully, that seemed to disperse some tension. The elephant’s middle inflated and contracted with a deep breath that made her relaxing body fat sag in a way Tulip found surreal. She bit her lower lip really hoping that was not a blush forming. “So...they even printed out stories about me here, huh?”

“Oh, gosh yes! Hearing about the stuff you found was cool.” Lynda nodded with a vigorous flapping of her ears. “I’ve been a big fan of dragons since I played D&D in high school. No pun intended…”

“Hah, no. Go for it,” Tulip said with a little giggle. “Only a few species get to make that joke and it never stops being cute.”

“C-cute…?”

Well, that might have been a poor choice of words. Without warning, the elephant went stiff with a thousand mile stare. Lynda’s brain shut down for several seconds before a gentle head shake had her addressing Tulip like nothing had happened.

“That’s very nice of you to say. Wow!”

“S-sure?” Tulip gulped, leaning back from Lynda’s stomping feet. Somehow she had delivered a compliment that caused her pachyderm visitor to start bouncing.

Those flattened feet were pile driving some impressive holes in the sand.

“Well, I...um…”

Unfortunately, that seemed to be the end of their conversation. Tulip was not eager to end things so soon, but could see Lynda doing mental gymnastics trying to find a topic. She felt bad for also lacking any ideas they could connect on too. Another fan graced the dragons day with positive energy and now she would probably disappoint them.

“Do you like my swimsuit?”

“What?” Tulip blinked, watching Lynda spread her plump arms in presentation. Although, considering the elephants grimace that was probably not the best ball they had wanted to get rolling.

Now that Tulip was focusing on it, she did rather like the sky blue color on that gray and black skin. Trying to find something to fit such a large person must always be a huge chore, but Lynda seemed to have gotten lucky. Nothing looked too tight, but gave her shape a gentle lift that made her belly appear firm and round.

“O-oh! I think it looks nice on you. Sometimes all you need is a simple touch.”

Lynda beamed as she rolled her eyes. “Oh my gosh, right!? I’ve been telling my friend Yuki that for years. We don’t need frills, fishnets, or whatever the hell. Practical and simplistic always works when you're too big for the front door.”

“Or when you want to just advertise your adorable qualities.” Tulip flopped back on her towel, joining in the laughter. Had she been paying attention to Lynda’s expression she might have followed that with something different. “I was offered a job modeling for magazines after my first discovery. They tried to go for the whole ‘hot nerd’ thing going with outfits I think anime would find distasteful.”

“Dang, really?”

“Yeah. It was like ‘Hello? I’m a dragon! Let’s just sell that.’ But, hey, we reached a compromise and now I got pictures I’m not afraid to send to my family.”

“Always an accomplishment,” Lynda agreed, trunk curled around her neck like a scarf to hide her red cheeks. “I’d love to see those sometime. Maybe hear some adventure stories.”

“Hah. Sure.” Tulip’s chest inflated with her own deep breath. That elephant’s encroaching blubber was still scary, but the desire to hold on to Lynda’s company for a little while longer gave the courage to say, “You have a towel? Why don’t you sit with me and I’ll share a few?”

Lynda is an elephant insecure with herself and frustrated with life, but an impulse act of venting may end up turning things around.

Hello wonderful readers! :D

Welcome to my first experiment with writing story serials, something I've been wanting to get back into as a more regular work routine. This first adventure involves a BBW love story in collaberation with robthehoopedchipmunk, who generously allowed me use of their character, Tulip. Lots of big sizes effecting locations and people in ways one comes to expect from elephants. :B

This first set of episodes has been posted on my Patreon as a pre-release reward for $10 supporters, and will be released publicy in the coming weeks. I do hope you enjoy. :B
