A commission for Lauralien of her characters, Arshaka (the Zandak, flying stone bird! And caretaker to the other) and Naerina (the Alurian), in a moment in Naerina's childhood. Alurians can't fly on their own, but with a little bit of help, Arshaka can at least give her a small glimpse into what it's like.

I'm honored to be able to draw something from these characters' history. I've always loved Laura's worldbuilding, especially the Zandak (BIRDS AHHHH <3), so I had to jump on this when she suggested it at Anthrocon.
