I've been minimalizing details lately though, due to hand issues. I tend to over work it so Im trying to work a bit on the minimal side. "trying" lol xD-
It’s hard to cut back on something you love—even when it hurts. But trying is partway there! :)

I also grip harder when I do traditional, so I've been avoiding working on traditional pieces. But it's killing me because I can work way faster on headshots on paper than on my tablet lol xD-
I know what you mean. I'm still doing my ref sheets and coloring by hand and with markers, because it would take me a thousand years to have time to sit and do it digitally! But ARTHRITIS makes it freaking hard sometimes to do either! XD

I just bought a fat t h i c c pencil to see if it helps with my grip...won't help with overuse, but it's a start lol xD
OMG coloring by hand...you crazy lol xD But it looks better traditionally, something about the texture just...aesthetic xD

I still love using all my traditional stuff. My linework is my proudest part of my skill. I still spend.......way too much on Bristol paper and markers! XD

I caved and bought 3, one for each lead size lol xD
But it's worth it, honestly. Linework is so under appreciated xD

It is totally worth it. Technology is nice and everything..........but what do you do if your computer breaks and you can't replace it/fix it right away? At least having some traditional materials at hand--should disaster strike--you can still draw things for awhile. :)

Exactly, it's why I'd like to have both. Traditional work is getting rare nowadays. Don't get me wrong, I love digital stuff, but traditional always has that raw art feeling to it.
Oh I have so much traditional stuff to work with, I stockpiled when I had money, just in case something went down lol xD-
The way this world is going--we may see mass explosion of the internet in the future. I think the world is a bit wrong to be gambling everything on interconnectivity via the internet.......with technology not even having the longer lifespans it used to. My previous laptop lasted me 10 years, this new laptop is acting cranky after almost 2. :<
If the internet breaks and a mass EMP takes out all technology--you and I will be safe and still able to draw. nods
