In June 2014, someone commissioned a plush doll of Emmet from me. I had never made dolls before at this point, and the result was this: the ugliest Emmet doll ever to walk the face of the planet. Out of all the blaring things that are wrong with this toy, the one thing I definitely would do differently is to do the iron-on details AFTER I stuffed it, not before. The iron-on paper doesn’t stretch as well as fleece, so since I put it on before I stuffed the toy, Emmet ended up looking like he had gained 30 pounds since he got that safety vest.
