Here's a real king of the jungle, appropriately in green. I've been wanting to draw something like this for some time now, but haven't quite found the right reference picture until Robbo uploaded one of his recent photos. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was perfect! I love when that happens.
It was fun working in greens. I have to stop looking at the drawing, though, as I've started seeing all the mistakes I made.
Art by me.

no prob, and it's very visible in your work that you love it ^^
I've been considering getting myself some black paper (white just seems off and have put me off traditional drawing), is this something you will recommend?
Yes, absolutely! Black paper is great, because it lets you get away with a lot. Doing sketches is harder, because pencil is pretty faint, but you can get great effects with minimal colour, just by choosing the colours and lighting carefully. I definitely love it, though, and pretty much never do pencil drawings on white paper these days. Black is miles easier.
