Oops, i watched all the new anime this season and my style shifted again. (well! maybe not that much. But it feels different to me!)

I saw a picture online, really liked the composition, and thought the accompanying text was a very "Kaye" thing to say! I thought I'd have a little self-indulgent fun and do a little clothing design and worldbuilding, This is my second, more traditional design for Kaye's fighting costume, which she also wears when her band plays. The overlap is more often than you'd think.

I don't spend time on backgrounds often, so it was a good chance to get some practice in! I scaled up the low-resolution reference and repainted it using shape and solid color. I wanted to try using as few colors as possible to create a minimalist feel. There was a lot of detail to pick out and I ended up doing finer work than I'd originally anticipated, but I feel like it was worth the effort!

I'm also out of practice with shading, but I felt it was unfair to leave Kaye plain when I'd spent all that time on a better background.
