my work day months ago:
i woke up, late, already feeling awful from barely getting any sleep after being up for over 24 hours. i had to rush out the door doing none of my morning routine, such as eating, to get there on time.
i had to work 4 hours sampling, which isn’t bad, except when you’re dying of dehydration, exhaustion, and a bloated nauseous stomach. i struggled through the first 3 hours without incident.
but the homestretch was a nightmare. i swear every 5 minutes was another 40. until approximately 30 minutes into the last hour, i felt something creeping up my throat. I HAD MERE MOMENTS TO ACT.
luckily no one was around so i rushed to grab the trashcan i have set up next to my table, managed to walk 2 aisles away, and then heaved foam into it.
NEEDLESS TO SAY I DIDN’T HAND OUT ANYMORE SAMPLES
i'm just glad no one saw me and thought i was poisoning everyone with food tained with whatever horrible illness i had.
that's also 100% accurate, i was told by my employers that they had an aging workforce and that they needed more young people sampling.
i don't work there anymore though because it was a horrible job with even worse wages.
