This picture shows Ios kneeling on the edge of the clock tower, staring down at the city below while the light of dawn emerges from the horizon. The clock tower's chimes mark the start and end of each day under the authoritarian's rule, and a routine to his liking is followed. As one of the authoritarian's agents, Ios must assure that the routine is obeyed by all citizens of Ladislaus, and punish those who would oppose it. Ladislaus is the capital of a completely reformed America, now known as Anasztaz by the other nations of the world.
